I’m a huge fan of Aliens (the movie), and I love to write tunes named after classic phrases from the film. This could have been called ‘Assholes and Elbows’ or ‘Maybe we got ‘em demoralised’, but those can wait for another day! I wrote this for the Forza Horizon 4 game, but it was a bit of a rush, so I was never totally happy with the version on the game.
I reworked it around the evolving woodwind line that really gets going in the second half of the track, so I wanted to make the theme shine more. This is Orchestra Galactica doing its thing to full effect. Melancholic and beautiful.
Melancholia and Beauty are, incidentally, two essential ingredients in any new world you build. The Melancholia keeps you intrigued, and the Beauty keeps you there.
